Hiring a logger? What to ask
- How you get paid: a lump sum up front, or a percentage of what the logs bring.
- Which trees will be cut, and whether they will be marked first.
- How they handle skid trails, stream crossings, roads and cleanup when the job is done.
- Proof of insurance, and a written contract before the first tree comes down.
