Hiring a log hauler? What to ask
- How they charge — per load, per mile or per ton — and whether a fuel surcharge applies.
- What trailers they run, and whether they load themselves or need a loader on your landing.
- Where the load gets scaled, so you know whose numbers you are paid on.
- Proof of insurance and their USDOT number.
