Our Story

JMLogMarket was founded by Jett Martin, from Greenup, Kentucky. Jett comes from a third-generation sawmill family — Martin Bros. — and has spent the last four years working at the mill himself, stacking lumber and watching the day-to-day of how the business actually operates.

He's not an industry expert. He's just someone who grew up around timber, understands the work, and saw firsthand how much of the buying and selling still happens through phone calls and who-you-know. He built JMLogMarket to make it a little easier for the people doing the real work to find each other.

When you post a listing, buyers call you directly. No middleman, no commission, no complicated process. Just a straightforward way to do what the industry has always done — connect people who have timber with people who need it.

• Fair pricing. Every account gets one free listing. Paid plans are affordable and straightforward—no commissions on your sales, ever.
• Appalachian roots, national reach. We started in Eastern Kentucky and our roots run deep in Appalachia—but anyone, anywhere can post and sell on JMLogMarket.
• People over technology. Our platform is online, but our service is personal. Call us and a real person answers.

Who Uses JMLogMarket

Loggers and timber cutters use JMLogMarket to list their loads and find buyers without driving all over the county. Post your White Oak, Red Oak, Poplar, or whatever you're cutting, and let mills come to you.

Sawmills and lumber buyers browse listings to find the species and grades they need. See photos, quantities, and locations, then call the seller directly to make a deal.

Log truckers list their services to get more hauling work. Loggers and mills search for truckers by location and equipment type.

Forestry service providers—portable sawmill operators, kiln-drying services, timber cruisers, land clearing crews, stump grinders, tree planters, firewood processors, and log graders—list their businesses to reach new customers across the region.

Landowners with timber to sell can post their standing timber or find a logger to cut and haul it.

JMLogMarket is open to sellers and buyers in all 50 states. Our strongest presence is in the Appalachian hardwood region:

• West Virginia — The Mountain State’s abundant hardwood forests
• Virginia — Blue Ridge and Shenandoah Valley timber
• Tennessee — Appalachian hardwoods from the Cumberland Plateau
• Indiana — Southern Indiana’s hardwood belt
• Pennsylvania — The Allegheny hardwood region
• North Carolina — Western NC mountain timber
• Michigan — Northern hardwoods and mixed forests
• Georgia — North Georgia’s Appalachian foothills

This region produces some of the finest hardwood in the world, especially White Oak prized by bourbon distilleries and furniture makers. But you don’t have to be in Appalachia to use JMLogMarket—if you’ve got logs to sell or lumber to buy, we want you here.

How It Works

For sellers: Create a free account, post your first listing at no cost, and start receiving calls from buyers. Need more listings? Upgrade to a Basic, Pro, or Elite plan for more capacity.

For service providers: Sign up as a service provider for $10/month and your business is listed in our directory. Subscriptions auto-renew monthly and can be canceled anytime through Stripe.

For buyers: Browse listings and contact sellers directly. No account needed to browse—just search, find what you need, and call.

Accessibility

JMLogMarket is committed to making our website accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards across the site.

What we do: We use semantic HTML, ARIA labels, keyboard-navigable controls, readable fonts, and sufficient color contrast to ensure a usable experience for everyone.

Known limitations: Some user-uploaded images may lack descriptive alt text. We encourage sellers to add descriptions when posting photos, and we are working to improve this over time.
